Kailynn VanHoesen

Clinician & Director

Hi, my name is Kailynn VanHoesen, MSW, LISW-S, ADHD-CCSP, CCTP-II, C-DBT

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Supervisor (LISW-S) with a deep passion for helping individuals and couples navigate trauma, mental health challenges, and the complexities of relationships. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Baylor University and hold an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) credential, a certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II (CCTP-II) credential with a specialization in Complex Trauma.

I have experience working with a wide range of concerns, including trauma, complex trauma, C-PTSD and PTSD, OCD, BPD, ADHD, couples and marriage issues, complex grief, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, and relationship challenges.

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and firmly rooted in trauma-informed care. While Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) concepts are incorporated into most modern therapeutic approaches and are often used as supportive tools within treatment, they are not the primary foundation of my work.

My practice is grounded in Psychodynamic Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, and Somatic-Based interventions. These approaches allow us to move beyond symptom management alone and explore the deeper emotional, relational, behavioral, and physiological patterns that influence your experiences.

I believe meaningful healing occurs when we address not only thoughts and behaviors, but also emotions, relationships, past experiences, nervous system responses, and the ways trauma can become stored within the body. By integrating these approaches, I am able to tailor treatment to each client's unique needs while helping them develop practical skills, increase self-awareness, strengthen emotional regulation, build psychological flexibility, and create lasting change.

I believe therapy should never be one-size-fits-all. Every person's story is unique, and treatment should reflect that. I work closely with each client to develop an individualized treatment plan that honors both where they have been and where they want to go. I genuinely believe in my clients’ capacity for healing and growth, and it is a privilege to walk alongside them in that process.

Whether you are looking to heal from past experiences, strengthen your relationships, or gain a deeper understanding of yourself, I am here to support you. Beginning therapy takes courage, and choosing to show up for yourself is something to be proud of. My commitment is to offer a space grounded in compassion, understanding, and genuine care. I invite you to reach out to schedule a free 15-minute consultation so we can determine whether we are a good fit for one another.
