Clinician & Director

Megan Shaffer, LISW, is a compassionate and skilled therapist with a Master's in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University. With years of experience in the field, Megan is dedicated to empowering individuals to create meaningful, lasting change. Specializing in trauma recovery and perinatal mood disorders, Megan combines clinical expertise with a deep commitment to each client’s unique healing journey.

As a Clinical Certified Trauma Professional (CCTP), Megan has worked extensively with clients who have experienced significant trauma, guiding them through evidence-based approaches like trauma-focused therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This work helps individuals process painful memories, shift negative thought patterns, and rebuild a sense of safety and control. Whether addressing childhood trauma, complex grief, or the effects of major life transitions, Megan brings warmth, patience, and expertise to the therapeutic process.

She also specializes in supporting new and expectant parents who are navigating perinatal mood disorders, such as postpartum depression and anxiety. Understanding that the transition to parenthood can be both overwhelming and isolating. She provides a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can process their emotions, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. The goal is always to empower clients to reconnect with themselves and their families in a healthy, fulfilling way.

In addition to traditional therapeutic methods, she integrates mindfulness-based, holistic approaches into therapy. By fostering present-moment awareness and self-compassion, mindfulness techniques support healing from the inside out, helping clients tap into their own strengths and wisdom.

All therapy is tailored to the individual, recognizing that each person’s path to healing is unique. Megan believes that therapy is not a sign of weakness but a courageous step towards personal growth and transformation. With each session, working collaboratively with clients to uncover their inherent power and potential, guiding them to live a more authentic and fulfilling life.
